It has also become apparent that Bill Sklar, through his
account at LAWRENCE, has attempted to 'fill my reader' with
listserv messages by signing on and off to ADORE-L with false names,
repeatedly using an EXEC or some such automatic mechanism to submit
them faster than he could type in the commands, although without
further study, this is unclear.

However since my account is running on an IBM 3090-200 supercomputer,
at Cornell Computer Services, my reader is a bottomless pit, so his
efforts failed to make a dent and no real harm was done.

These listserv messages have been logged in a file and will be
presented as EXHIBIT B on ADORE-L if the need should arise.

His point however is well taken. Knowingly filling others readers
or disk space with unwanted mail is an abuse of computer resources
and policy. Continuing to do this after explicit acknowledged
requests to cease and desist, would be a CRIMINAL abuse of BITNET
privledges and appropriate disciplinary actions would be proper.
Including account closings if such behavior persisted beyond
one or two warnings possibly earlier.
