C/S FOR ROLAND II Part 2

      The greatest OT power there is, is the ability to be at peace with
your eternal future.

      Not because of apathy or resignation, but because you have just as
much control over it as you want.


      INCIDENTS

      Incidents can happen in a number of different ways.

      ACCIDENTAL

      Two people can be out chasing butterflies one day and run head long
into each other breaking each other's necks.

      That's an accidental, there was no evil intention, no intention to
harm at all, each was oblivious to the other until the moment of impact.

      But there you have it, two dead bodies.

     Later when that person's survival is threatened, they will choose
the winning valence and gaily go out and chase butterflies, which is
what the other guy was doing too, while continuously running into
things.

     And you wonder why some people are so loony sometimes.

     Engrams often DO NOT MAKE SENSE and thus as solution providers,
they rarely do a good job.

     DED DEDEX

     Or one day Goober sees Dufus walking along, and just out of prime
postulate cussedness, Goober shoots Dufus through the head with a bow
and arrow.  Or perhaps it was meant to be a joke, but the consequences
were worse than expected.

     You know how that is, you have done that as a kid, to something or
other.

     Dufus didn't do anything to deserve it, and Goober had no prior
reason for doing this other than the anticipated humor of scaring Dufus.

     Goober now has committed a DED (DEserveD Action), and will be
looking for the rest of time for a good reason why Dufus deserved the
action!

     Later Dufus, with the arrow still in his head, will accidentally
run over Goober's favorite geranium plant while backing out of his
driveway.

     Goober now has his DEDEX (DED EXposed), his justification for why
it was OK to shoot Dufus through the head months before.  Goober will be
so incensed at this flagrant breach of justice, his poor geranium plant
after all, that he will start to taking pot shots at Dufus with his bow
and arrow every time he sees him, whether Dufus does anything more or not.

     There in lies a serious dwindling spiral for Goober.

     He has no engrams yet but Goober is well on his way out the tubes.

     MOTIVATED OVERTS

     Dufus on the other hand, now walking around with 2 or 3 arrows
sticking out of his head, has a whole chain of very serious engrams.
These are his MOTIVATORS.

     One day someone tries to rob Dufus of his favorite petunia plant.
Instead of giving in, Dufus pulls the arrows from his head and jams them
down the throat of the robber.  That's Dufus's motivated OVERT.

     Dufus may regret the extreme action he took, and will eventually
find a justification for it, namely Goober shooting him through the head
so many times without reason, and for the rest of time Dufus will go
around hunting down flower stealers and skewering them.

     Dufus is now on a serious dwindling spiral of his own.

     So you can have accidental engrams.

     Or a person can harm another out of pure cussedness, a negative
prime postulate actually.  This is a DED.  Later the offender will find
something small that is being done to him, blow it all up out of
proportion, and claim that the later wrong done to him justifies fully
the original serious wrong he did to another out of the blue.

     It doesn't justify however, and so the offender needs more and more
things done to him and thus becomes a black hole for harm directed his
way, namely he will covertly even to himself SEEK harm to himself, or
place himself in harm's way, none of which finally and forever justifies
what he did before any of it happened to him.

     WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU LATER CAN NEVER JUSTIFY WHAT YOU DID EARLIER,
EITHER INTENTIONALLY OR BY ACCIDENT.

     This is your chronic victim, your "calamity collector" or "n'er do
well" who will just never heal no matter what (absent good auditing).
They also whine continuously about the tiniest things as if the whole
world has it in for them.  Every conversation is about what others did
or are doing to them.

     Or a person can have an engram of some harm that was done to him
long ago, but it healed, and he's fine and has no problem with it.  But
then one day it gets restimulated, he dramatizes it and causes harm to
another.  He then regrets the harm, and now needs more harm coming his
way to justify the harm he did.

     This also is your chronic victim.

     In both cases the person did something to harm another.  In the
first case he thought it up unprovoked out of the blue, it "was a good
idea at the time." Sometimes it was just a practical joke gone very
wrong.

     In the second case he got the idea from something someone had done
to him long ago, and it looked like a good idea to handle what was
provoking him now.

     In either case, both end up regretting what they did, and then need
an endless amount of harm coming to them in return after the fact of
what they did, to justify what they did earlier.

     This creates a black hole for incoming harm, that will never
complete the justification process, but the person pretends it does and
therefore, continues to cause harm to others justified by the incoming
harm he is continually seeking out and receiving.

     Goober hurts Dufus, Dufus hurts Goober, now Goober feels (almost)
justified in hurting Dufus EARLIER, and certainly feels justified in
harming those committing Dufus-like actions in the future, which leads
to more regret which leads to more pulling in harm to Goober which (had
better) never heal, which causes Goober to commit more harm to others,
and that's a never ending dwindling spiral.  In this way people elect
others as their executioners.

     The incoming harm acts to both justify the prior harm he caused to
others AND TO RESTRAIN IT so he can't do it again.  He knows it was
wrong, so he wants restraint, but he has justified it, so he has to do
it some more anyhow.  Thus he seeks MORE incoming harm to help him
restrain himself further, but this harm also justifies continuing to
strike back in laudable revenge.

     The result is a dramatizing psychotic on a full blown out of control
dwindling spiral.

     This is the anatomy of an intractable bully by the way.

     He will microwave a kitten, then then next time a cat scratches him
for rough handling, he will claim the kitten DESERVED to be microwaved
and will proceed to microwave any cat that comes his way.

     It is this effort to stop (restrain) oneself from doing what one is
justified doing that leads to an unauditable tar ball at the center of
the case.  Every layer of restraint (harm coming in) and justification
(harm going out), lays down another layer of mental solidity that is
tougher than iron and concrete.

     Except when it wants to move on it's own determinism in which case
it looks like a demon from hell with living sinews of stone and steel.

     We are talking about the guy's future here.  Eventually he doesn't
have any.

     At the bottom of the awareness characteristic this looks like
elation, glee, fixidity, erosion, dispersal, disassociation,
criminality, uncausing, disconnection and unexistence.

     (Disassociation means two things.

     First it means no longer able to associate cause and effect
properly particularly in regards to his own responsibility for events
around him.

     Second it means breaking off one's associations with others,
becoming a loner criminal who eventually only 'associates' with other
loner criminals like himself.)

     About half way up the chart it looks like disaster, inactuality,
hysteria, shock, catatonia, and oblivion.

     This is the kid banging his head against the wall trying to make
nothing out of everything, catatonia.

     A little higher up it looks like fear of worsening, being an
effect, ruin, despair, suffering, numbness, and introversion.

     Even higher it looks like help, hope, demand for improvement, and
need for change.

     Who you gonna call?

     The way to happiness is a true confession, blaming others, or even
self is the open door way into tar.

     THE TONE SCALE

     In all this, there is a single mechanism that is best represented
by the tone scale.

     The tone scale is a vast playing field that goes from Serenity of
Beingness at the top to death at the bottom, with a quick stop for
football and hotdogs in between at ACTION.

      The important tones of the tone scale are as follows.

      We present each tone in the standard form of NO ITEM - ITEM,
because it is an auditing high crime to even think of an ITEM without
its NO ITEM coming first.

      You can and should run any NO ITEM - ITEM pair with

      (Don't use spot, use 'get the idea of'.)

      Spot   NO ITEM.
      Spot SOME ITEM.

      Tell me about   NO ITEM.
      Tell me about SOME ITEM.

      Or whatever variant you like.

      SOME means any amount more than NONE.

      NO means PRETENDED NO via the use of force to cover up the SOME.

     I presume you know all this by now and are an expert at maintaining
the NO and SOME sync and using an E-meter to watch the rhythm, so I
won't bring it up again.

      Here are the top 5 tones, they are critical to understanding
all the rest below.

     NO STATIC - SOME STATIC NO SERENITY - SOME SERENITY NO POSTULATES -
SOME POSTULATES ("Hey I was *BORN* a hyena!") NO UNIVERSES - SOME
UNIVERSES (A universe is a collection of NO GAMES - SOME GAMES games.)
NO ACTION - SOME ACTION

     The purpose of life is ACTION, this is where the joy is, the spirit
of play.

     Action is not a thing, it is THE emotion we all seek, engines full
throttle, no carefulness, no thoughts of failure, just competency in
motion.

     Consider a never ending volley in tennis.  That's action.

      Action is most about aesthetics, art, beauty, harmony, discord and
resolve, dance, poetry in motion.

      Thus we get,

      NO EXHILARATION       SOME EXHILARATION
      NO AESTHETICS         SOME AESTHETICS
      NO THRILL/ROMANCE     SOME THRILL/ROMANCE

     Thrill and romance are a two sided coin.  They look like thrill
going down the tone scale, and romance come back up towards home.

     "Thrill is always the effort to get lost.

     Romance is always the effort to get home.

     High Halcyon is bemused relief on the verge." - Adore

     Halcyon is pronounced HAL-CY-ON.

     As failure starts to settle in the thetan starts to use lower and
lowers tones.

     First he comes to

     NO COURAGE - COURAGE

     "There may be such a thing as courage, but there is no such thing
as sanity totally opposed." - LRH

     Then he starts down the standard human emotional tone scale, but he
is doing so as a THETAN, not as a thetan + body composite!

     This is critically important, a thetan at enthusiasm as himself, is
many many times higher than a sub death thetan plus body composite
enjoying a social facade of enthusiasm.  We will get to sub death in a
while.

      So we have,

      NO ENTHUSIASM       SOME ENTHUSIASM
      NO CHEERFULNESS     SOME CHEERFULNESS
      NO STRONG INTEREST  SOME STRONG INTEREST

     At this point the failures are beginning to build up to where the
thetan first starts to become careful.

     Being competent is high tone, being careful is low tone.

     The second you tell someone who is being competent to be careful,
you drive him down tone.  Being competent means full awareness, being
careful means go slow, don't do it, second guess yourself every step of
the way.  Telling someone to be careful is the surest way to make them
cause an accident to themselves.

     So we have the careful band,

      NO CONSERVATISM   SOME CONSERVATISM
      NO MILD INTEREST  SOME MILD INTEREST
      NO CONTENTED      SOME CONTENTED

     At contentment, the being is settling for what he has, has given up
trying to get more, and is generally on the edge of either going up tone
and trying again, or going down tone and getting mad.

     Contentment is a higher harmonic of apathy.

     Also of COMFORTABLY NUMB.

     If the thetan chooses to go further down scale he starts to use,

     NO DISINTERESTED SOME DISINTERESTED

      We all know the CDEINR scale.

      NO CURIOUS ABOUT    SOME CURIOUS ABOUT
      NO DESIRE FOR       SOME DESIRE FOR
      NO ENFORCING        SOME ENFORCING
      NO INHIBITING       SOME INHIBITING
      NO NO               SOME NO
      NO REFUSED          SOME REFUSED
      NO SUB REFUSED      SOME SUB REFUSED

     The being will go through the cycle of curious about -> no curious
about -> desires -> no desires -> enforcing -> no enforcing ->
inhibiting -> no inhibiting -> no -> no no -> refusing -> no refusing,
on anything that he wants and fails to get.

      The NO and SOME are actually just the NO of the CDEINR scale.

     SOME is representative of CURIOUS, DESIRE AND ENFORCE.

      NO is representative of INHIBIT, NO and REFUSED.

      ISNESS takes place at CDE and NOT-ISNESS takes place and INR.

      The being will execute the CDEINR scale on every tone he uses as he
comes down the tone scale.  Thus he will have

     CURIOUS ABOUT ENTHUSIASM
     DESIRES       ENTHUSIASM
     ENFORCING     ENTHUSIASM
     INHIBITING    ENTHUSIASM
     NO            ENTHUSIASM
     REFUSING      ENTHUSIASM
     CURIOUS ABOUT CHEERFULNESS
     etc.

      At DISINTERESTED the being is beginning to enter INR on the whole
tone scale as a whole.

     He will then fall down to

     NO BOREDOM   SOME BOREDOM
     NO MONOTONY  SOME MONOTONY

     Remember that although we write and audit NO BOREDOM first and SOME
BOREDOM second, he will actually come down through the tone scale to
SOME BOREDOM first and then NO BOREDOM second before he drops to
Monotony.  Thus we are auditing the tone scale in reverse on each item.

     This is because not-isness was IN GENERAL the last thing to be laid
down on any item, and thus must be the first to be audited before the
item itself can come alive.

     But really it is an oscillation, NO -> SOME -> NO -> SOME -> NO, at
a rhythm that is out of the pc's control.  The item is oscillating the
pc into dramatization, first one way, then the other.

     Thus the item will first read on the last dramatized moment.

     In truth the being has oscillated between NO and SOME on any item
in existence many times, and that is why we need to run out the
oscillation in sync by running NO ITEM and SOME ITEM.

     On forgotten items, one can assume that NO ITEM will have been the
last swing.

     Thus when SOME ITEM won't read, NO ITEM usually will, so we start
with NO ITEM to start with a win rather than a loss, and to get it
running.  However sometimes, NO ITEM will not read first, and then one
must go to SOME ITEM.  Once you get either one reading, then back and
forth it is between the two of them until the flows are run out and the
needle and TA stop moving or you get a float.

      Ultimately we aren't talking about a floating needle, or
even a floating TA.  We want a floating E-meter!


     MONOTONY

     MONOTONY is a very special tone for two reasons.

     First it is the dividing line between sanity and insanity.

     Second MONOTONY is so much like the static, it might as well be the
static.

     The only difference between the static and monotony on the tone
scale is pure consideration.

      So although the being might have been lost in his postulates before
this, or too busy in action to remember his responsibility for things,
monotony is a kind of stopping place, giving him a moment to reflect on
"Que fait moi dans cette galere" - LRH History of Man.

      "What am I doing in this galley?"

     At the moment he reaches monotony, he reaches a stop that puts him
right back at the static again.

     THAT MEANS WHATEVER HE THINKS NEXT WILL BE.

     He is at a pivot point in his existence, he can either change his
mind and rearrange his postulates to reoptimize his game again, at which
point he will float back up the tone scale to ACTION once more.

     That's what we are trying to do by clearing somebody.

     At MONOTONY, the being can clear himself.

     All of his God Postulates are hanging out there right there,

     A God Postulate is that postulate which the thetan thinks is true
because he observed it, when in fact he observed it because he thinks it
is true.

     Thus at monotony the thetan is surround by everything that stopped
him, all the things he is just sure are true regardless of his
considerations about them, every one of which is true only because of
his consideration of them.

     He is putting there that something else is putting him there.

     Is that observation or causal consideration?

     He will bounce off of it as a most detested observation
because it is too terrible to contemplate and he has no interest
in simply suffering it forever.

     Ah but suffering it for a while, will start to loosen it up
and pretty soon he will see that he is stuck in a causal consideration
and not a de facto observation.

     How long does it take confronting a God Postulate to get it
to loosen up noticeably?

     Not forever.

     Exactly as long as you want it to while you are still involved in
this observation/consideration flip flop nonsense.

     Remember the thetan at MONOTONY has been losing a very big game for
a very long while.  He has accumulated a very long list of 'whys',
constellations of limitations, that explain his failures, things that he
is just SURE are true 'because' he has 'observed' them to be true.
These observations thus act as certain evidence that they are true.

      Can a God create a stone so big he can't lift it?

      Well yes, first he considers a stone and that it is
so big he can't lift it.

     Then he tries to lift it and fails.

     Observing his own failure in the matter the then says "See?  I told
you so!"

     He then says that his consideration or rock solid belief that there
are stones he can't lift is the direct result of his observation of the
fact!

     This second consideration thus locks him into the consideration
that considerations are not casual, but are statements of learning as a
result of observation.

     Causal Consideration -> Observation -> Learned Consideration

     The word TO DETERMINE is a dicom within itself.

     It means to create, and then it means to learn what was created.

     Thus causal considerations determine the creation of the
observation, that's causal determination.

     But then the observation determines the learned consideration.  He
has 'determined' that there are stones he can't lift by 'trying' and
observing the results.

     The causal consideration that creates the observation considers
itself cause of the observation.

     The effectual consideration that learns from the observation
considers itself an effect of the observation.

     Thus consideration and observation are dicoms.

      NO CAUSING CONSIDERATION   SOME CAUSING CONSIDERATION
      NO CAUSED  CONSIDERATION   SOME CAUSED  CONSIDERATION

      NO CAUSED  OBSERVATION     SOME CAUSED  OBSERVATION
      NO CAUSING OBSERVATION     SOME CAUSING OBSERVATION

      NO CAUSING DETERMINATION   SOME CAUSING DETERMINATION
      NO LEARNED DETERMINATION   SOME LEARNED DETERMINATION

     He believes that these limitations have nothing to do with what he
thought or postulated or considered, and so therefore changing his mind
about them will do no good at all.

     At least that is what he thinks, HE HAD TO THINK THIS WAY IN ORDER
TO MAKE THE GAME TOUGH ENOUGH TO LOSE TO.

     In fact for every one of those whys and limitations, he postulated
them into existence, BEFORE he observed them to be true, and THEN he
observed them to be true.

     Reverse time order kills.

     BECAUSE means BE CAUSE.

     This is also called the Consideration/Observation flip flop.

     A being considers something into existence, and considers his
consideration to be cause of it being there.  Then he observes it is
there, and then he considers that his consideration it is there is
BECAUSE he observed it to be there.  Thus his consideration it is there
is an effect of his observation, and merely records the truth of the
observation of the pre existing condition.

     Thus causal consideration becomes caused consideration by being an
effect of observation.

     A being can do this.  He HAS to do it to keep anything around.
This is what static does to create a persisting game that the thetan can
lose to.

      No sense in creating games you can win, there just is no fun in it.

     Thrill is getting *LOST*, romance is trying to get home and
wondering if you will ever make it.

     The fun comes from not knowing if you are going to win or lose,
thus a being must be able to create games he can lose.

     But since his own postulates create all abilities and limitations,
he must be able to make postulates and then deny that his postulates
made anything.

     The consideration/observation flip flop is how he does it.

     So at MONOTONY there is no ACTION, the being is sitting there in a
loss, surrounded by every god postulate he ever made.

     He has two possible choices.

     He can recognize that they are in fact his own god postulates, and
flop flip back to "consideration is causal and not observational," and
thus reaccess the static and reoptimize his game towards maximum action
and minimum certainty of outcome.

      Notice the word MINIMUM there.

      Both maximum certainty of winning and maximum certainty of
losing are BORING.

      Are you willing to create game in which you HAVE NO IDEA if
you are going to win or not?

     There is nothing like sitting on the razor's edge of 50/50 to get a
being to get off his ass and DO something!

     His only saving grace is HE is creating the game and pretending he
isn't.  50/50 can't persist any other way.

      NO OPTIMUM     - SOME OPTIMUM
      NO SUB OPTIMUM - SOME SUB OPTIMUM

     Again we are not talking about a sub death thetan + body composite,
we are talking about a free thetan at monotony on the tone scale.

      He is a God in his own chariot.

      What he usually does next will change all that.

      Which is stick his toe in the ocean of woe: anger, fear and sorrow.
